Getting started for affiliates
Sign-up is free, with no cost and no commitment - you earn a commission on every sale that came through your links. Five steps.
Step 1 - Sign up
- Sign up at affilink.co.il/signup (email and password, or Google).
- On the "How would you like to use affilink?" screen, choose "I'm an affiliate".
- Fill in a display name, and ideally also: site/channel, promotion channels (blog, YouTube, Instagram, mailing list...) and an audience description - businesses see this when deciding whether to approve you, and a complete profile gets approved faster.
Step 2 - Finding offers and applying
You apply to an offer that suits your audience. Some offers require the business's approval (usually quick), and some are open immediately. After approval, the offer is available for you to create a link.
Step 3 - Create a tracking link
For each approved offer you generate a personal link of the form https://go.affilink.co.il/r/{code}. Every click on it is recorded to your credit and forwards the visitor to the product page.
Traffic-source tracking (sub tracking)
You can add up to five of your own parameters to the link - sub1 through sub5 - to know which post/video/campaign brought each conversion:
https://go.affilink.co.il/r/a1b2c3?sub1=youtube&sub2=video-42 The parameters are stored on the click and appear alongside every conversion that came from it.
Step 4 - Track your performance
- Clicks - how many clicked each link, when and from where.
- Conversions - every sale attributed to you, with the commission calculated for it.
- Attribution window - a sale is credited to you even if the buyer came back and bought a few days after the click, as long as it's within the offer's attribution window (usually 30 days).
Step 5 - Getting paid
- Commissions accrue to your credit with every approved conversion.
- The actual payment is made to you by the business whose offer you promoted, according to the entitlement report the system produces.
- Affiliates in Israel: you will need to issue an invoice (VAT-exempt/VAT-registered) - it's worth arranging this in advance. Details in the getting-paid guide.
- If a sale is refunded, the commission for it is deducted from your next payout.
Bonus - the referral program
Referred a new affiliate to the network? You receive 15% of the commission pool on every sale they generate - not at your expense and not at the business's expense, but from splitting the existing pool (the referee gets 85% and sees their rate up front). Passive income for building the network.
